The Problem
Noticing that many of my peers were experiencing wrist and body pain from prolonged computer use, I conducted user research, distributed surveys, and created a journey map to uncover key pain points. The findings revealed that poor workstation ergonomics and posture were the primary causes of discomfort.
My Process
I ideated and prototyped various solutions to see what resonated with users—from posters to physical devices—but found it challenging to convey the risks before users experienced pain. However, introducing a tracking app allowed users to recognize poor habits early, helping them address the issue before it became a problem.
The Result
I prototyped the tracking app and guided users through several user stories to evaluate its usability. While the app was intuitive and informative, it was challenging to convince individuals of its value as a preventative tool. Feedback indicated it might be more effective if marketed to corporations aiming to support employee well-being in desk-based environments.
